From 22nd – 25th of Oct. 2015 was the 20th WONCA conference (World organisation of national colleagues, academies and academic association of general practitioners) in Istanbul, Turkey.
The main point of WONCA is to keep the quality of people's life through the values promotion and to keep high supply standards in general physician infirmary. It works, promotes and supports the development of academic and clinical work in the area of family medicine.
The conference was attended by a group of doctors and nurses from HC Ljubljana, which are under the supervision of Medical Director Assist. Prof. Antonija Poplas Susič, M.D., Ph.D., on the conference actively participated with several contributions related to the project "Upgrades comprehensive care of chronic patients", in which in 2015 HC Ljubljana was included. In addition to the involvement of community nurses in the treatment and prevention of chronic patients, the project is also focused in the education of general public by using simulation in Simulation center and also to raise the awareness about the importance of healthy lifestyles and to prevent the development of chronic diseases.
These articles have been demonstrated in front of an international audience with interesting and highly professional content, which form HC Ljubljana in the wider international arena and provide opportunities for further work in the academic and clinical work in family medicine clinics.
